Snowflake

I wish I was a snowflake
Falling in the wind.
My final destination:
To be among friends.

I wish I was a snowflake
Unique in all the world.
From dust, made beautiful
Through cold cloud hurled.

I wish I was a snowflake
Sending sparkles to your eye.
Now we are connected,
You and I.

I wish I was a snowflake.
I'd take my place out there.
I'd drift into position,
As shelter from harsh air.

I wish I was a snowflake
Swirling 'round and upside down.
Not like driven rain,
Slamming madly to the ground.

I wish I was a snowflake
Growing crystals clear and small.
From chaos comes small order
Breathing life from none at all.

I wish I was a snowflake
Knowing Spring will be my end.
Then turning back to water,
I'd travel once again.
